HVAC Project Engineer

Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC projects across commercial and industrial sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients, architects, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders to gather comprehensive project requirements, technical specifications, and performance expectations.
- Develop detailed project execution plans, including work breakdown structures, timelines, deliverables, budgets, manpower allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct pre-project site visits to analyze existing infrastructure, identify technical constraints, and assess feasibility for HVAC integration or retrofit.
- Lead internal coordination between the design, drafting, procurement, and site execution teams to maintain alignment and eliminate communication gaps.
- Supervise the creation of engineering designs, load calculations, ducting layouts, piping schematics, and equipment selection using AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent tools.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes (ASHRAE, ISHRAE, NBC), safety protocols, green building standards, and client-specific SLAs.
- Manage procurement schedules, vendor coordination, and subcontractor engagement for timely material availability and workforce deployment.
- Monitor on-site activities through regular visits, ensuring adherence to design, installation best practices, and regulatory guidelines.
- Facilitate commissioning procedures, including functional testing, balancing, performance tuning, and client walkthroughs for system handover.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation such as BOQs, technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, work inspection reports (WIRs), and close-out documents.
- Work closely with the project control team to track budgets, report cost overruns, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support post-installation activities such as maintenance briefings, AMC planning, and addressing snag lists to ensure customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or HVAC systems (e.g., ASHRAE, IGBC, LEED) will be considered an added advantage.
Professional Experience:
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience as a Project Engineer or HVAC Site Engineer, ideally with exposure to medium to large-scale commercial or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated experience in executing design–build or EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) HVAC projects.
Skills & Competencies:
- Comprehensive understanding of HVAC system components, psychrometry, load estimation, VRF/VRV systems, chilled water systems, and duct design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, MS Project, Primavera, and MS Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and proactive problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
